I sometimes feel like my brain is breaking–as if all my neurons are firing simultaneously, and I see the world through color and shape. Paintstrokes flicker through my mind, seeing possibility wherever I go. I wanted to capture the feeling of an artistic “brain glitch.” 

I love seeing the glitch screen of a TV where all the pixels flash and move around. I decided to paint a brain in black and white and layer it on top of a colorful background, further conveying through that contrast the feeling of confusion and contradiction that inspires a lot of my art making.
