MY PARENTS ON THE SUBWAY (2026)

Oil paint on canvas

30” x 24”

A family portrait responding to the theme of heritage and roots for my final project in Intro to Figure Painting. This piece explores my family and themes of growing up in NYC, specifically all the time I’ve spent on the Subway. The motion blur alludes to the motion on the Subway and the passage of time from childhood to adulthood. The phrase “IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING” is advertised behind the figures.
