In my room

Oil painting

24” by 24”

Throughout the past few years, my bedroom has become a reflection of my mind. During the height of COVID-19, I spent hours of the day in my room doing online school, sleeping, and trying my best to be positive. This piece reflects a space that is important to me and also gives a glimpse into my brain. My room is a collage of memories, hobbies, and thoughts–I take its design and the feelings that it evokes seriously. In creating this piece, I wanted to portray versions of myself in my room, and the myriad of emotions I feel there. I also wanted to add ambiguity by having a version of myself leave the room.
